Can You Believe It?

For the third day in a row it's been near freezing all day but our Postman is still wearing shorts*!

Mad? Hardy? Or doing it for a bet?

*Short trousers.

I've noticed you've added the (short trousers) comment. So what's the difference between shorts and short trousers then? I've always thought they were pretty much the same thing. In Australia I think the only real difference is who's wearing them :-)

To clarify that - shorts are things that Aussies wear (male or female), short trousers are something the English schoolboys wear until they reach a certain age, when they are allowed to wear long trousers. My high school had a similar thing concept though, with the school uniform, only they were called short pants, rather than trousers. And were most definitely a bloke thing. We girls were stuck with (just below the knee length) skirts.

Just wondering if they are any different your side of the pond?

Over here shorts = short trousers, ie the outer garment. I'm given to understand that in some corners of the world, shorts = underwear.

Would be just plain pervy to have that sort of knowledge of what my Postie was wearing LOL.

BTW if people think it's cold now, just imagine what it would be like if we didn't have global warming! Tee hee.
