What better way to spend Good Friday than enjoying a lovely meal, with ym?

Individual steak and ale pies, roasted potatoes, carrots, parsnips and drunken goodness (a dish based on mashed sweet potatoes). Not forgetting of course Bungerberg ginger beer. Yum!

To Mask Or Not To Mask?

For a good while now it has not been compulsory in England to wear a face covering, or mask, in public places. It has been up to each individual to make up their own mind, weigh the risks, their personal health and their tolerance to risk. Fair enough.

In the supermarkets and other shops I have visited, about half of the shoppers still wear a mask. I would suggest a similar proportion of shop workers also still wear something. So far so good. Now the interesting matter for me is, that since you may chose not to wear a face covering, why on God's Green Earth would you wear a mask incorrectly? We are talking mouth covered but nose proudly protruding above said thin strip of cloth. You might as well not bother for all the good it isn't doing!

Not a bad saying LOL. Anyway tonight is officially declared (for no obvious reason) Port Night LOL.

Crumpet

Now that the UK is officially in British Summer Time, although it is clearly only Spring, it is only right we get a blast of Winter weather, with temperatures below freezing and of course snow. I kid not.

All of this is what what we come to expect in this country: dress for winter but be ready for a heat wave and so on. Needless to say on cold Sunday afternoons, what could be better than toasted crumpets? Toasted crumpets with cheese and Marmite for one thing! Mmmm, takes me right back to childhood.
