Henderson's

Many will be familiar with the British tangy table relish, Worcestershire Sauce which dates back to the 1800's. What most don't realise is that a good number of towns and cities had similar relishes, such as Reading Sauce (a surviving bottle and recipe can be found in the museum), which for various reasons didn't survive. 

However one survivor that is quite readily available is Henderson's Relish from Sheffield in Yorkshire. Still family owned and manufactured in Sheffield, it has a 130 year history. A little stronger in flavour than it's more well known stable mate, it is definitely worth trying.

Summertime Approaches

In the wee small hours of tomorrow morning the UK will it's clocks forward an hour, in British Summer Time. We "lose" an hour's sleep but hey, it will officially be the start of the better weather (we hope). To mark this the regular ice cream van has today made it's first appearance in my street of the year, stopping as always across my driveway. It really would be rude not to go and purchase a Mr Whippy LOL.

Back In Time

More Lego fun: I've just seen this fab set depicting the time travelling DeLorean from the Back to the Future films. Complete with mini-figure Marty and Doc Brown! Only wish I could justify splashing out £150 (US$200, AU$270), great scott LOL!!!

Finally

How long can a simple 1000 piece jigsaw take, you might ask? When it's this Lego mini-figure bad boy, the answer is far too long LOL. It was however pretty relaxing.

The Electrik Live Orchestra, perhaps the closest I'll get to seeing ELO play again live. Awesome night out!

Perspective

Two and a half hours to drive 20 miles (32 km) home. The section of the M4 motorway I needed to use was closed, which had a knock-on effect to surrounding roads.

Putting things into perspective, someone tragically lost their life on the M4 today. In those terms I have nothing to complain about.

Wise Words

When making toast and marmalade, first thing in the morning, it's best not to mistake the jar of Jalapeño Chilli Jam for the spread you did want. Not a pleasant experience I can tell you!

Squeaky

Homemade grilled Halloumi burgers with fried onion and Jalapeño chilli jam. Served with Sweet Potato chips. 

Yum, even though I say so myself lol.
