Top Deck

I wish I could say I found this really hard work but I got the Pros in. The UK probably hit its highest ever temperature while the guys were working on this, while I slaves in my air conditioned lab LOL. Space for an outdoor hot tub do you think?

There It Is

Our hottest day yet this year. Quite possibly some parts of the UK will experience our hottest on record (above 39 degrees Celcius). Nice.

Mmmm...?

Warm enough for you LOL? Tomorrow is going to be hotter...

Inspirational Sunset

Sometimes you just feel inspired. I thought the sky this evening over my local park looked quite dramatic and coupled with a lovely sunset over the houses, I thought I might attempt to capture this in a new and interesting manner. Not so sure it has worked; you be the judge (users on certain devices may need to tap the image to reveal).

Hungry Jack's

Very interesting and welcome news, that in the UK, fast food chain Burger King (known as Hungry Jack's Downunder) is to introduce a grilled Halloumi burger to their range. Great news for vegetarians and vegans I am sure, and awesome news for me and other lovers of that particular cheese!

EDIT: 17/07/19 it has come to light that despite appearances, this product may not be suitable for vegetarians or vegans. Burger King UK have confirmed they cannot at this stage guarantee the Halloumi burger has not been cooked in the same oils as their meat products!

Passion Is In The Air

Twelve months ago, while on holiday, I took a sneaky cutting on a Passion Flower and stuck it in a pot with soil. Now look at it: around five foot tall, about to flower and spread more joy.

Seven Inches Is Not Enough

Some say that all good things must come to an end. So it is for my trusty 7" Kobo Arc HD tablet and e-reader; it just won't accept updates anymore. It's done me proud for many years, perhaps far longer than I might have imagined; in fact those with good memories might recall it was purchased in the early part of 2013. However every dog has his day, to use another popular saying. The replacement is considerably bigger and lighter, with a far superior technical specification but will it serve me as well as the Kobo I wonder..?

Finger print marks are an optional extra LOL.

Cool Or What?

Homes in the UK are generally speaking designed for a cool climate, to retain the heat and keep us warm in Winter. We don't tend to have air con in our houses as a matter of course, why would we? When we do get hot conditions, for a short period this time of year, it can therefore be an issue. Think of all that warmth trapped in our well insulated houses. Places like my conservatory, constructed mostly of glass and being (broadly) south facing can become unbearable in Summer.

Here's my latest treat, a portable air con unit or tower of cool if you will LOL. Hope the investment proves worthwhile...
