Overdose?

Is it possible to have too much of your favourite yeast extract spreads? I do not think so but in the name of science, I'm prepared to give it a go. One (patriotic) mug of hot Marmite drink and two bagels layered-up with Australia's Vegemite. The only thing missing being a bag of Marmite crisps (chips) and Marmite Cashews.

Yum!

Made with a product, (traditionally) made using brewer's yeast. Cheers!

Who's That?

You'll never guess who (or what) I found in the Middle of LIDL- Marmite's little brother LOL. At a bargain price too (for this import) of £1.65 (AU$3.15) per 220g jar. Happy days.

Crumpet

Now that the UK is officially in British Summer Time, although it is clearly only Spring, it is only right we get a blast of Winter weather, with temperatures below freezing and of course snow. I kid not.

All of this is what what we come to expect in this country: dress for winter but be ready for a heat wave and so on. Needless to say on cold Sunday afternoons, what could be better than toasted crumpets? Toasted crumpets with cheese and Marmite for one thing! Mmmm, takes me right back to childhood.

New Jar

What better way to welcome 2022 than with a brand new jar of the best yeast extract?

Sprout

Nothing better than Brussels Sprouts, cut from their stork. Except maybe roasting them with a little helping of a well known yeast extract. Mmmm, just right for Christmas!

Great Choice

What better to go with Marmite beer LOL?

Crisps or Potato Chips, if you're from accross the pond.

Love It Or Hate It?

Most people are aware the best yeast extract in the world (sorry Vegemite it's not you), is traditionally made from used brewer's yeast. It was therefore about time a beer was launched, flavoured with yummy Marmite. I've purchased 8 cans so by the time I've made my way through them, either I will be addicted or...

What's Wrong With This Picture?

Readers from Australia or the UK will know instantly LOL. Thankfully breakfast was saved- I always have spares of both!

Advertising

Unilever's marketing for their new explosive version of Marmite is pure genius!

Boom!

Marmite with added chilli. What's not to like LOL?

My Mate?

It had been suggested one of the casualties of our first national lockdown was supplies of Marmite, the original yeast extract food. I wasn't convinced but to be honest I had a pretty well stocked cupboard so didn't actually need to source more back then.

Well here we are in lockdown 3, and I barely have any Marmite left. Imagine my horror on discovering the shelves of my local ASDA devoid of my favourite! Instead all they could offer was their own brand. It can't be that bad, surely?

Do you think I might be taking this all a little bit too seriously...

Love Or Hate

Quite a find: Delicious yeast extract flavour potato crisps, or chips as some insist on calling them, LOL.

Trick Or..?

Many will know I'm not overly keen on the annual practice of celebrating Halloween. However I noticed today my local Sainsbury was stocking this seasonal set. How tempted was I LOL?

Fresh

There's nothing like the just-opened-packet coffee aroma first thing in the morning! Add to that a new jar of the best yeast extract in the world. What more can I ask for?

Life sure is a blast when you're on furlough LOL.

Mite

Here's something I enjoy: Curried scrambled eggs on Vegemite and Marmite toast. The best of both worlds you might say. I wonder if anyone else dares try scrambled eggs on toast with their favourite yeast extract lol?

Happy Little...

Whoop! Whoop! Those lovely people at Vegemite, the Aussie alternative to Marmite, now ship direct to the UK (and US)! What's not to like LOL?
