Abbey
Right now I am feeling very privileged to have gained rare access inside the grounds of the ruins of Reading Abbey. Because the ruins are largely unstable and Reading Borough Council currently don't have the funds to make them safe, this area is usually closed to the public. Here are a couple of images I took...

Time To Leave The Euro(vision)
What is the point of the Eurovision Song Contest?
It seems to me that for many years it's not been about selecting the best tune or singer but more about voting along political lines, certain countries supporting their mates.
Since when was Russia part of Europe anyway?
Isn't it time the UK pulled the vast sum of money we contribute to this televisual farce each year and spent it on something worthwhile?

Black Iron Oxide Coil Pot Thing
As mentioned in previous postings (here, here, here and for good measure here) I have been working on a ceramic project of sorts. This evening I finally got to see it in all its glory and thought I might share some images.
In addition to the the Black Iron Oxide, I applied the following Stoneware glazes in varying proportions: Marbled Blue, Copper Red, Marbled Green and Red-Brown. Not necessarily to everyone's taste I know but I like it.
