Snow Day!

Even if I were allowed, I wouldn't be inclined to go far! The forecast snow arrived this morning in my little part of the UK. At one point very large flakes were falling, at a rate of around 2 cm per hour. Definitely not the weather for a barbecue LOL.

Diamond Geezer!

Mum's all time favourite singer/song writer was Neil Diamond. I grew up in a house where his LP's (yes kids, those strange black things we had way before streaming) were probably played daily. He was her go-to artist for happy times and sad.

I  have no idea how many times mum saw him live in concert, or sat engrossed watching The Jazz Singer on VHS (another throwback to times past LOL).

Needless to say over the years I came know a fair few of his hits as well as many of the not so well known tracks. They kind of stick with you and whenever I hear him it evokes all kinds of emotions. For the most part, memories of the great times. Although when I hear Jonathan Livingston Seagull, I can't help but think of her funeral.

It's incredible to realise he turns 80 on Sunday and is still recording great music. He certainly was a huge part of mum's life and I guess continues to be a big part of mine too. Happy birthday, Mr Diamond.

Where Have You Been?

Some don't feel comfortable with Google or Apple tracking our movements via Location Services. Personally I don't have any issues- if Google are that interested in the places I've visited then good luck to them. However it is interesting in the current situation, I'm sure many would  agree, to see how reported movement directly correlates with the lockdowns and restrictions. Indeed how accurate or otherwise it is. For example:

My Mate?

It had been suggested one of the casualties of our first national lockdown was supplies of Marmite, the original yeast extract food. I wasn't convinced but to be honest I had a pretty well stocked cupboard so didn't actually need to source more back then.

Well here we are in lockdown 3, and I barely have any Marmite left. Imagine my horror on discovering the shelves of my local ASDA devoid of my favourite! Instead all they could offer was their own brand. It can't be that bad, surely?

Do you think I might be taking this all a little bit too seriously...

It's In The Bag

Not before seen my favourite brand ground Coffee in easy to use bags. Just like Tea bags but better LOL.

Reminiscent of Robert Timms.
