LL looking very mean and moody while on a trip to Henley on Thames. The weather was lovely and we both had a great time.
I'm pleased to say his new tooth is coming through quite nicely.
And I can also exclusively announce that the Martians have landed the vanguard of their invasion fleet on top of a Narrow Boat. Guess they forgot the small matter of scale LOL.
Oh and LL tells me he loves Art of Noise- I had the CD in my car today.

Art of Noise
Kind of feeling all nostalgic over my latest CD purchase. Just wish I could still play all those vinyl Long Play "LP" albums I still have stashed away LOL.
Who can possibly forget "Close (To The Edit)" or the excellent covers of "Kiss", with Tom Jones, and "Peter Gunn", featuring the talents of Duane Eddy?
There was a time AoN seemed to be everywhere, you know.
Happy days.

Dear Steven Moffat*
** Warning the entry below may contain spoilers **
Sometimes there can be change for change's sake. Discuss.
- The new version of the Doctor Who theme music and graphics are OK (although personally I could do without the lightning strikes) and the new logo, spinning DW and all, is inspired.
- The re-imagined Silurians are great; gone the ridiculous third eye, to be replaced with a lovely poisonous tongue mmm.
- I can appreciate why you wanted the "retro" exterior to the TARDIS with the St. John's Ambulance symbol. It looks great, just like the stunning new interior. Although I did like the previous version, I suspect it had to go due to it not being suitable for High Definition TV..?
- Accepted you had no choice casting a new lead and companion- David Tennant had already decided to move on and Donna Noble's story had pretty much come to a conclusion. To be honest Matt Smith and Karen Gillan are a fantastic piece of casting.
The new ones are frankly rubbish- their voices don't sound right and they sure as hell don't look right. Steven, you're currently filming the 2010 Christmas special and preparing for the next full series so now is the right time to say this: the original design DALEKS were far better. A true classic that has endured for decades.
You've "reset" the whole universe (or at least all of Time and Space) so you have a grand opportunity to welcome back the classic design DALEK, right?
*I know the Executive Producer of Doctor Who is unlikely to ever read this but I feel better now, having got it off my chest LOL.

Fig-ure This
My now annual Fig update... Looking good, don't you agree?
My rather poorly looking Aloe Vera plant. Any suggestions welcome..?
Finally... when exactly does a Green Pepper become a Chilli?

Re-Engineered
I've been playing around with distorting ceramic forms of late with some interesting results. My latest work in progress is these two pots I've thrown and then have deliberately broken the rims, in order to rearrange.
These have been bisque fired and are now ready to be glazed. There's lots of nice ragged edges, where the glaze should run thin, revealing the ripped clay underneath. Should be interesting.
Just look at those lovely shadows!
The college is now on Summer break so it'll be a while before I get to finish these but I'll be sure to post something more in the Autumn...

More Ginger
As previously reported here and here, I have something of a liking for ginger. Almost but not quite an obsession you might say.
So tonight I'm drinking Twinings Lemon and Ginger Tea, in the hope it will help the Summer cold I seem to have acquired. In truth I drink it a lot but maybe I feel I need an excuse LOL...
Best served without milk, because that would be so wrong LOL.

Grrrr
One of the disadvantages of living in the United Kingdom during the Summer months is that for some reason people seem to want to light stinky bonfires late at night. As an asthmatic, this tends to b****r my breathing unless I realise in good time and shut all the windows. Of course this then means- because I don't have Air Con- the house becomes unbearably hot and it's then impossible to sleep.
Just my little rant. Over now.
