Twenty-Five

Temperatures in my little part of the UK have today reached a very agreeable 25 degrees Celsius (about 77 degrees Fahrenheit). What better way to not do very much than with a lovely glass of iced coffee (made with Taylors of Harrogate "Take it Easy" dontchaknow)? Maybe later the ice cream van will be round. Bottoms up!

Friday Night Cheer

After six weeks on furlough, Friday's are pretty much the same as any other day, yet we cling to routines, cheers!

Grow Plants, Grow!

Never a dull moment in the garden. Here's some choice pictures from this evening, while out watering.

Lantana

At long last, I have finally managed to track down a tiny little Lantana plant at a reasonable price! Thanks to supermarket Lidl no less. It will be interesting to see whether in the British climate just how much and how quickly it tries to take over my garden LOL.

For those interested there's also a superb mystery drama from DownUnder featuring this plant (some might call it a weed), from around 20 years ago. Well worth watching.

Do As I Say..?

Really cannot believe that some people think Social Distancing rules do not apply to them. Switch on the tv news tonight or trawl Social Media and everywhere you look there are images of people having get togethers with friends on the beach, in the park or some other tourist venue. They seem to be behaving as if it's 2019, not year of the Pandemic!

The new normal is we must keep our distance, not hug one another or pose in groups for that all important "we survived lockdown" image. The country avoided catastrophe by the skin of its teeth; now we behave like idiots and court disaster. Well the English anyway, the other three nations of the UK are still heavily restricted and no doubt looking at England with horror on their collective faces.

What is it going to take for some to face up to their responsibilities within society? Perhaps for them take this seriously again, a family member or cherished friend will have to be rushed into ICU and placed on a ventilator? For all our sakes, please don't be selfish, reign it in and show some self control.

Victory in Europe day, 2020. Sadly due to the Covid 19 lockdown, there won't be street parties and mass celebrations. Nevertheless to everyone who gave 75 years ago, so we might enjoy freedom, thank you.

* the correct order to watch the films is: Solo, Rogue One, episodes IV-IX. Anyone suggesting episodes I-III exist in anything other than an aborted and dark parallel universe is just plain wrong LOL.
