I'm A Bobby Dazzler!

Mid-week night out to The Swan theatre, High Wycombe to see Gary's wife. So funny!

Jab

Pleased to say my son, ll, has now been vaccinated with the Pfizer jab. As a 17 year old, there had been some debate whether he would receive an invite. The government confirmed a week ago that 16 and 17 year olds can opt to be vaccinated, without parental consent. He received his letter from the NHS on Thursday and today attended a walk-in clinic. He's done his bit to help protect himself and others.

Potting

For the first time in several years I got to attend the annual national ceramics show, Art in Clay, along with ll.

Possibly because it is good to mix things up now and again, and possibly due to Covid, they were at a new venue this year, the racecourse at Windsor. Practically right on my doorstep. I suspect also thanks to the virus there wasn't the usual selection of international exhibitors this year. Nevertheless there was display from a great many UK based potters, some familiar to us and some not. Great day out.

Equal

That's it, the "2020" Tokyo Olympics are over, except for the closing ceremony. Team GB have finished fourth on the medals table with a haul equal to that of the London 2012 games. This was far better than expected. Well done to all who won a medal but also congratulations to all the other competitors for being good enough to take part in Tokyo, and giving their all in their chosen sports.

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the TV coverage in the UK, that the average viewer did not get to experience the games as previously. UK and Europe broadcasting rights had been purchased by an American broadcast company, who put the best coverage behind a pay wall on their fledgling streaming service and allegedly sold inferior secondary broadcast rights to the likes of the BBC. The other criticism being the claim timings of events were scheduled to suit US viewers. Whether these claims are true I cannot say, however the UK government is said to be examining if the list of sporting events that must be broadcast on a free to view basis needs to be expanded, so they are widely available regardless of income. We shall see if this happens I guess but I'm not holding my breath LOL.

Punderland

Evening out to Maidenhead to see the very rude Gary Delaney, Sarah Milican's husband. The four of us didn't stop laughing.

Soreen

Aldi's very own version of the leading brand of Malt Loaf. Thought it might be worth a try...

Antibodies II

The results are in from the blood test I had last week. No evidence has been found of antibodies relating to Covid (not the vaccine). It is therefore probable I have not had Covid-19 in the past six months. I feel so much better now LOL.

Free

I love a new piece of technology.

Having made the decision I was done with in effect paying twice for subscription channels, I've said farewell to satellite broadcaster Sky, and spending £45 (approx AU$85, US$65) per month for premium channels I don't watch. To the rescue is around 150 free UK satellite TV channels plus an assortment of radio, together with the likes of streamers Amazon, Britbox and Netflix. What's not to like LOL?

Hello shiny new Freesat box...

Summer Colour

Everything in my little garden seems somewhat delayed this year. Nevertheless the plants are starting to look fabulous. Enjoy.
