Too Fast

Looks like on a recent trip to visit Dad, I was caught driving too quickly by the Rozzers. Quite right too: 48 mph in a 40 zone earns you points on your licence plus a hefty fine and an increased insurance premium. Alternatively I might be able to avoid all the points and fine malarkey by paying a fee of about £100 to attend a half day Driver Awareness course. Again*.








* Well it was eight years ago.

Hydrated

When they said stay hydrated at work, this wasn't quite what they meant LOL.

To be fair, it did only contain water.

Enjoy the unseasonally warm weather while it lasts. Yesterday a top temperature of 29 degrees Celcius was recorded in the UK. The April average is around 12 degrees.

Anniversary

The Royal Mint have been busy, releasing these lovely two pound coins to mark 100th anniversaries. It's been 100 years since the formation of the world's first airforce: the Royal Air Force. The other landmark coming later this year: the signing of the Armistice and the formal end of the Great War.

I think we've had enough rain this Easter public holiday, thank you very much LOL.

Tick Tock

How come with the clocks going forward and therefore an hour of sleep being "lost," I woke up even earlier than normal? Reckon I missed out on at least two and a half hours, grrr. Must have been the excitement at the prospect of British Summer Time!

A Bit Mixed Up

Confusion seems to be the watch word at the moment: I mean it's meant to be very nearly Spring here in the UK. Yet this morning we were treated to more snow. Having travelled down to visit Dad, this was not what I had expected (just how naive am I LOL?). Anyway it certainly made for a very different view of the Bournemouth seafront.

Golden

Received an interesting sales email from department store group John Lewis this weekend. Seems the Easter Pineapple is a thing. Yes really LOL.

No Snow

After the snow and ice of last week, it was lovely today to be out and about in the relatively mild conditions. I think to be honest Winter still has a bit more to give us but I remain optimistic than Spring is on it's way.

Chill

No heating again this morning. Heating output pipe frozen once again. Time to get some lagging LOL.

Freeze

Returned home this evening to a very cold house, despite leaving the heating on. It's been so cold today that the water in the output pipe of my condensing boiler froze. This caused the boiler to detect a fault and shutdown. With telephone advice from my heating engineer it was a simple fix but it's taken ages for the internal temperature to return to pleasant.

Meanwhile outside the snow fall has continued...
