Investment

In these tough and unpredictable times, I keep hearing advice telling me to invest in gold.

Is this what they mean LOL..?

Crumble

Just look what has arrived, yum!

In my humble opinion, this Aussie delight is superior to the Cadbury Crunchie.

Happy Easter, everyone.

Choc's Away!

Chococo's finest, all the way from the Isle of Purbeck. Multi-award winning and quite possibly the best handmade chocolates ever. Mmm!

Tim Tam

First Hot Cross Buns and now these purchased from supermarket Waitrose, I think the weekend will be just fine.

Good Friday Belatedly

I'm celebrating Good Friday and Easter in general, today, having spent the official day in the smallest room of the house. The rest of last weekend I sure wasn't interested in food. So I have hot cross buns and if I really want to, the supermarkets have stacks of chocolate eggs they are now selling at a considerable discount LOL.

Prentender

Could this be a suitable (dark chocolate) alternative to Australia's yummy Violet Crumble pieces? There's only one way to find out!

Marathon Man

Even after all these years I still think about Marathon bars, not Snickers LOL. Nice to see these back in the shops even if for a limited period.

In addition I could not help but be tempted by this offering from budget store Poundland, which quite possibly owes a little inspiration to a well known triangular confectionery...

Not Sharing!

Just look what arrived in the post today, from an international food importer! A delicacy- you might say- I discovered a few years ago on a visit to the land Downunder. Quite why these were never really launched in other countries is beyond me.

Apparently these are best consumed before May 2020. Don't think they are going to last that long, do you LOL?

Crumble

Interesting news today that Aussie chocolate favourite Violet Crumble will once again become Aussie owned. Confectionery giant Nestle has sold the brand they had owned since 1989 (following their acquisition of Rowntree's). I guess they want to concentrate on their global brands. Oddly the news first seems to have been announced to UK media, rather than DownUnder...

Have to admit to being quite partial- despite appearance it is quite different to the better known Cadbury Crunchie bar- and occasionally I treat myself from a local importer, although over here a bar is relatively expensive.

Here's a light hearted advert via YouTube from the 1990's, featuring a well known actor from the Aussie soap Neighbours.

Egg-terminate!

Happy Easter.

Hopefully no one has forgotten to change their clocks forward by an hour: British Summer Time has officially started, hurrah!

Lucky Me

Need I say more LOL..?

Thank you, Postman.

One Festival

Given that retailers are already selling Easter Eggs, Hot Cross Buns and Valentine's cards, I suspect our festivals and celebrations will one day soon merge. May I be the first to wish you all a very Happy Valenteastermas LOL.

Mind you I guess for those based in the United States, I should probably make that Valenteastergivingmas.

On another (totally selfish) note I have discovered a shop in Reading that sells yummy Violet Crumble chocolate bars, all the way from Downunder. Lucky me.

Where I've Gone Wrong

I now know where I've gone wrong all my adult life. In fact I'd go so far as to say I now know where most men have made the greatest mistake.

You can forget roses, chocolates or grand gestures for your loved one on Valentine's Day. As I discovered from an email I received this morning, this is clearly what you need:

Yes that's right, software protection from Zone Alarm. Really?

Chocolate Thoughts

Seen on a wall outside a Reading shop...

Somehow it seems to make perfect sense.
