Deepest

You can tell when Spring has finally arrived, the Mower emerges from hibernation and it's time to tackle the very long, unkempt grass in the garden. To borrow from the Rod Stewart hit (penned by Cat Stevens dontchaknow), the first cut is the hardest LOL.

It certainly was hard work.

Rumour Has It

Rumours (see what I did there?) abound I've been out two nights in a row.

'Tis true, this evening was spent at a very special evening celebrating the music of Fleetwood Mac by Candlelight. Electric candles, of course: you never can be too careful. Nevertheless it was a truly amazing and atmospheric event, set within a lovely old English church. What's not to like..?

Cryptic but it's gonna be fun LOL.

Electric

What could be better than a tribute evening to the genius of Jeff Lynne and the Electric Light Orchestra? Great night out at the Hexagon in Reading.

Years ago I was at this same venue seeing ELO Part II perform. They were (more or less) the Classic line-up but without Lynne, who was off being a Travelling Willbury or something LOL.

Baby It's Cold Outside

Not just the title of a song, but this morning a reality. That's around 24 degrees Fahrenheit, just so you know.

Flying High

When one of your all-time favourite singer/song writers announces a new studio album and tour.

I got to see her a couple of years ago and may not be able to get to the new tour but at least the album is pre-ordered. Whoop! Whoop!

Sisters

Trip this evening to sunny Basingstoke to see the excellent trio, The Puppini Sisters as part of their 20th anniversary tour. Drinks first, of course LOL.

None The Richer

The Royal Mint have (again) chosen to mark the run up to you-know-when with the release of a silver sixpence. By tradition, a silver sixpence has been given at times of celebration, particularly the one featuring the Fat Man, often hidden inside a pudding. Yes I know totally mad and a potential danger to dental health but in the times before risk assessments this is what went on in Britain LOL.

Note the UK coinage, like most, is decimal and this coin isn't part of regular currency but is technically legal tender. This beauty is decorated with irises, calla lilies and orchids to symbolise christenings, weddings and the December festival it's far too early to mention.
