Extra

What to do on a Leap Day? You know, that additional 24 hours that only comes around once in 4 years. There's perhaps pressure to "make it count," do something special or out of the ordinary.

Certainly I don't feel waking to discover your gas central heating system has developed a fault really counts. Grrrr. And it's really quite chilly today. Double grrrr.

Too Soon?

I'm wondering if after more than four years it is time to return to the clay, get back into ceramics..?

Silver proof £2 Britannia from the Royal Mint, number 144 of a limited edition of 3000. Weighing in at just over 31g with a diameter of nearly 39mm. Definitely a good week for coins LOL...

How Many Stamps?

Ever wondered how much postage it takes to Airmail a coin from the state of Victoria in Australia to Berkshire in the UK? Now we know!

In this case it is a very special commemorative silver coin, from the Royal Australian Mint, marking 100 years of national carrier QANTAS Airways. QANTAS is quite possibly still the safest airline on the planet, thank you Rain Man for that gem LOL. As you can see this limited edition silver AU$1 is absolutely beautiful, combining an outline of one of their aeroplanes with the kangaroo logo used throughout the fleet. Weighing in at 1/2 oz and having a mintage of only 7500, I feel extremely fortunate to have bagged this prize.

Mite

Here's something I enjoy: Curried scrambled eggs on Vegemite and Marmite toast. The best of both worlds you might say. I wonder if anyone else dares try scrambled eggs on toast with their favourite yeast extract lol?

Happy Little...

Whoop! Whoop! Those lovely people at Vegemite, the Aussie alternative to Marmite, now ship direct to the UK (and US)! What's not to like LOL?

Am I Missing Something?

Not quite sure Amazon have quite got the hang of the idea of economies of scale LOL...
